Alex Logusch is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from St. Louis, MO who attends De Smet Jesuit. Medium and athletic frame with room to fill. Ran a 6.95 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, hands work well out in front, takes long strides with plenty of range especially to his right, quick actions with good footwork throughout, funnels cleanly into body, some effort at release, full arm stroke into throws with very good arm strength, topped out at 90 mph across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, smooth and well-paced delivery driving down the mound, loose arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, low effort delivery. Fastball has varying life both cutting and sinking it, topped out at 87 mph on the mound, mixes in two breaking balls, slider has short horizontal break, curveball has 12-to-6 shape for strikes. Righthanded hitter, sets up with a slightly open stance and high hands, gets some torque and rear leg drive into his swing, looseness to hands getting the barrel through the hitting zone quickly, some ease to swing with the ability to get the head of the bat out in front. Outstanding student. Named to 2018 Jr. National Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Indiana.
