Austin Doty is a 2019 OF/ with a 6-2 158 lb. frame from South Elgin, IL who attends South Elgin. Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Ran a 7.06 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with aggressive footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels out front with clean glove actions and generated good momentum to the bag while working through transition. Medium arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced solid carry to the bag with accuracy topping at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Stays behind contact well while working to the baseball with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact with a level, line drive plane through extension. Did create some lift at contact when attacking the baseball out front. Flashed smooth, fluid actions when on time and showed the ability to turn the barrel and work to pull side with authority. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
