Michael Krol-Cain is a 2018 C/ with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Wheatfield, IN who attends Kankakee Valley. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.64 sixty yard dash. Primary catcher, creates a slight off set, higher position while receiving baseball. Clean glove to hand exchanges while working through transition with a quick arm cirlce. Fundamental footwork while gaining ground to the bag. Throws created on line, accurate carry to the bag topping at 71 mph. Best workout pop time of 2.01. Right handed hitter with slightly crouched, open stance with a toe tap trigger. Creates some front side coil at load producing torque. Launches to contact with linear lower half actions that generate occasional shift. Shows a mid-field approach with a line drive swing plane generating consistent line drive contact back up the box. Repeats swing mechanics well with good barrel control throughout the zone. Consistently barreled contact throughout batting practice. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
