Julian Rojas is a 2018 C/1B, OF with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Humble, TX who attends Atascocita High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame; incorporates strength well into actions. Primary catcher, lower set behind the plate, receives the ball out front, pops tall out of crouch and can continue to incorporate lower half into release, quick transfer in a short and compact arm action, tight release on throws, shows carry down to second base with accuracy. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; uses physical strength well to generate bat speed through the zone. Stays short and direct with swing path with a linear path, shows carry off the barrel to all parts of field with occasional life. Covers the plate well and can work the opposite field, shows strength to hands and gets the barrel to the ball. Very good student.
