Eric Sheffield is a 2018 C/3B with a 5-8 180 lb. frame from Ingleside, TX who attends Ingleside High School. Younger build, small frame with a compact lower half and room to refine build and add strength. Posted a 7.75 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, showed a quick, clean transfer with very accurate throws to the bag. Arm strength will develop with age, posted a top workout pop time of 1.98. At the plate, started with slight squat, balanced, high hand set, high back elbow, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Showed good hand speed through the zone, accelerates bat speed well, positive launch angle with elastic hands. Ball came off clean with loud impact and showed the ability to drive in the air, including a home run in batting practice. Exceptional student. Named to Top Prospect List.
