Cameron Roof is a 2018 3B/MIF with a 6-4 175 lb. frame from Apex, NC who attends Apex High School. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front, picks the backhand cleanly, takes longer strides moving towards the ball, works behind the ball, sound transfer into a full arm action with lower slot release, arm strength will continue to develop. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread stance and loads hands back at start of swing. Wide stride into contact, arm bar at start but shows a linear plane coming through the zone and comfort to work the middle and pull side parts of the field. Stays balanced through finish and utilizes lower half well, ball comes off the barrel well when squared up. Good student.
