Chase Stafford is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Somerset, MA who attends Somerset. Medium frame with slender, highly projectable present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.98 seconds. Sets up to hit from closed off stance, opens up well in stride and gets online, shows good bat speed with smoothness to stroke, gets uphill at times, longer stride, shows good ability to drive the ball to the pull field when on time. Worked out in the infield, shows good footwork to both sides, clean hands to forehand and backhand, smooth transfer, arm strength clocked up to 78 mph. Also pitched, lower three quarters slot with slinging action, crossfire delivery, fastball worked 80-83 mph and peaked at 84 mph with very good arm side run, Showed solid curveball with good sweeping action, showed solid control overall. Named to 2017 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List; good student.
