Carson Collvins is a 2019 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-0 197 lb. frame from Mt. Vernon, TX who attends Frisco HS. Large frame, broad shoulders with present strength and physicality. Primary right handed pitcher, high leg raise delivery with load and gather on the backside. Deep, extended arm-action, works to a 3/4's arm slot. Solid direction and line to the plate, gets extended over frontside with small head snap at release. Fastball up to 74 mph, shows some short armside run, sinking life when located down. Also flashed some curveballs in outing, soft 11/5 breakers with depth. Could incorporate more lower half into delivery, was able to throw strikes and induce groundball contact. Also worked out in the infield, comes out of crouch well, has quick transfer and accurate throws. Right handed hitter, open stance with hands at shoulders. Flashes strength in swing, can lift the ball with natural uphill swing plane. Can be late with front foot at times, still able to get the barrel to the ball. Good student.
