Andrew Gough is a 2018 SS with a 5-10 174 lb. frame from Lake Forest, IL who attends Lake Forest HS. Medium athletic build. 7.32 runner, likely faster but has a present hamstring condition, high energy player on defense, has active feet and is in constant motion, compact 3/4's arm action with very good arm strength and carry on his throws, can get a bit snatchy with his glove at the ball but this can be easily adjusted with lower body positioning. Right handed hitter, hits from a balanced even stance with a lower hand set, has a short and simple swing that he repeats well, creates some bat speed with plenty of mid-field line drive contact. Also pitched, same tight 3/4's arm slot, stays over the rubber well and maintains balance and direction, medium effort release. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, gets occasional hard running life. Also shows similar big life on his change up. Twisty slider is thrown for strikes. Overall a quality secondary pitcher. Like the energy that he brings to the game. Excellent student.
