Justin Boyd is a 2018 OF/3B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Eastlake. Medium-large, athletic frame with solid present build and lots of room for physical development. Hits from very spread and very open stance, swings hard with solid feel for the barrel overall. Good extension through zone and through contact. Pull-Field approach with good bat speed and overall good offensive projection. Line drive contact with potential power with physical development. Showed well defensively, working through the ball well with good footwork and solid arm strength in the outfield. Accurate throws in the infield with good arm strength, topping at 78 MPH. Works through the ball well and projects well defensively in both spots (infield and outfield). Very good student.
