Michael Gerwitz is a 2018 RHP/2B with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Fort Myers, FL who attends Southwest Florida Christian Academy. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, quick and up-tempo delivery on the mound, shows nice glove side mechanics and incorporates lower half into drive well. Full and fluid arm stroke through the backside, works to a high three-quarters arm slot and creates extension out front, topped out at 81 mph with short running life to the arm side. Controls running game well and shows an 11-5 curveball with short depth at 66 mph, slows arm action slightly upon release. Similar loose arm action across the infield, fields the ball out front with two hands and funnels well, shows sound footwork and accuracy on throws across diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright and even stance with a high hand set away from body. Moving parts to swing, shifts weight on line through lower half moving into swing. Loose and extended path through the zone, contact approach and looks to work the middle of the field, can go to either gap when on time. Very good student.
