David Combs is a 2017 OF/MIF with a 5-11 161 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Marietta HS. Medium athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger. 6.99 runner, played both infield and outfield and looked athletic and capable at both positions, has good hands in the infield with a quick release on his throws, throws well on the run, footwork is young at times but makes up for it with athleticism. Easy actions in the outfield, with a loose arm and some carry to his throws. Right handed hitter, gets to his front side well, short line drive swing with some bat speed, can extend better out front, stays above the ball well and makes consistent solid contact. Nice all around player who should continue to improve with additional strength. Good student.
