Kai Pegula is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Santa Monica, CA who attends Crossroads. Pegula has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he has developing actions in the outfield and really waits back on the baseball. Pegula has a long arm action and has some arm strength up to 82 MPH. There's more arm strength in there with a more aggressive path to the baseball. At the plate, Pegula stars with a deep hand set with an arm bar. He coils his front hip at leg lift and he stays closed through his swing. He has some bat speed and showed some loft in his swing. Pegula made solid contact to the opposite field. He pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. He gets some down plan on his fastball and he throws a big 12/6 curve ball at 60 MPH. Very good student.
