Calabria Atkins is a 2019 C/1B, 3B, UT with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Conyers, GA who attends Heritage. Large and athletic frame with present strength to the build especially in the lower half. Ran a 7.01 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, sets up with a high crouch, exchanges the baseball quickly from his mitt to his hand, gets the baseball released quickly, good arm strength behind the plate with plenty of carry to the bag, could improve accuracy to the right side of the bag, 1.94 second best pop time. Graded out best at his secondary position of first base, athletic actions with clean footwork and hands, quickness to either direction laterally and while bouncing off of the bag, good arm strength that produced an event best 86 mph throw from first base. Righthanded hitter, wide based set, pumps hands into swing to get them going, quick bat with present whip, inside hand path at times staying on plane, impact strength with intent to lift the baseball. Named to 2018 Southeast Prospect Top Prospect List.
