Mason Carnes is a 2019 3B/RHP/MIF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from McDonough, GA who attends Woodward Academy. Slender young athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, short and quick swing from a simple load and shift, swings hard and has some bat speed, consistent sound mechanics he executes well, high average approach that should grow with additional strength. 7.12 runner, moves well on defense with athletic footwork, good arm strength with a quick release, has the actions for the middle infield, also played outfield and looked athletic out there as well. Took a turn on the mound, arm strength translate well there, same short and quick arm action with a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, threw his fastball to spots, mostly straight with arm side run. Got good rotation on his curveball with some 11/5 depth, threw it for strikes as well. Solid all around player with tools and skills in all areas. Good student.
