Joe Sondock is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Emery Weiner Center For Jewish. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable frame with room to add strength. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, compact and quick arm action in the back, comes to three-quarters arm slot and generates good angle with extension out front at release. Remains balanced through delivery and tall on back side, steady tempo, ball comes out of hand cleanly. Attacks with fastball, late life to arm side with ability to stay off barrels, projects for more with continued incorporation of lower half. Maintains slot on curveball, 1-7 shape at 61 mph, slows arm action at release, feel for pitch will continue to develop. Easy arm action from outfield, quick transfer with strength and carry to intended target. Righthanded hitter, starts with an upright and slightly open stance and hand set pulled back. High leg lift trigger for timing, compact swing to the ball, shows present strength off the barrel and projects for more, occasional jump when squared, most comfort hitting to the middle of the field.
