Blaine Hogue is a 2019 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Deland, FL who attends Deland. Medium frame with slender present build; good projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.92 seconds. Switch-hitter, showed good barrel skills from both sides. Smoother with more bat speed from left side, generates loft to path and can drive ball into air a bit. Showed well defensively in the infield, good footwork to both sides with range, quick transfer with twitch, arm works well, quick release across with throws clocked up to 85 mph. Pitched as well, long arm stroke through the back, good arm speed to three quarters slot, simple delivery with slightly closed landing spot. Fastball worked 79-82 mph; shoed curveball with 12/16 shape and big depth along with changeup. Worked down in zone consistently. Named to 2017 Sunshine East Top Prospect List. Very good student.
