Carson Ogilvie is a 2019 SS/OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Oak Ridge High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders a lean, projectable build and room to fill, present strength and shows twitch to actions. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and shows smoothness to actions, nice range to the six-hole in live action, balance on the turn, hands play out front and shows comfort dropping slot on throws, accurate across the diamond and can make the deep throw with present arm strength. Fields the ball out front in the outfield, works into a full arm action and shows accuracy to throws, developing actions through the ball, shows athleticism and quickness to arm with solid carry. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Barrel tilt at start of swing, full path through the zone and shows present bat speed at the point of contact. Employs a middle of the field approach and shows jump off the barrel when squared, mostly line drive contact and gets the barrel to the ball well. Excellent student. Named to the Top Prospect List.
