Jake Poindexter is a 2021 RHP/IF with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Chickamauga, GA who attends Gordon Lee HS. Young athletic build, projects very well physically. High leg lift delivery, long and clean arm action with a high 3/4's arm slot, stays on line well and stays tall on his back side, very sound mechanics for his age. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight with good downhill plane, command his fastball well. Curveball is a quality pitch with good power and a tight and sharp bite with 11/5 shape, has a mature feel for his curveball. 7.45 runner, showed good athleticism in the middle infield, good body control and quick direct actions, can throw from different arm angles with accuracy and carry. Right handed hitter, hits from a crouched spread stance with a simple line drive swing, middle of the field approach. Very interesting young pitcher with a nice combination of physical projectability, polished mechanics, arm strength and the ability to spin the ball. Follow very closely. Good student.
