Billy Wheatley is a 2018 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Berlin, MD who attends Stephen Decatur HS. Extra large build, highly physical frame with present strength and broad shoulders. Ran a 7.76 second 60 yard dash. Primary third baseman, should work on balance into gather, hands could be softer playing ball, average arm strength topping out at 77 mph across the diamond. Also took reps in the outfield, fields the ball out in front with two hands similarly to in the infield, long arm action into throws with similar arm strength as the infield topping out at 79 mph. Righthanded hitter, wide base with an even stance, high hand set with a high back elbow, small leg lift trigger, long hand path to baseball, downhill barrel plane, flashes some bat speed, timing could be better with some simple fine tuning but can impact the ball with some strength, ball jumps when squared but would like to see more lift. Good student.
