Avery Maddox is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Powder Springs, GA who attends Hillgrove HS. Medium athletic build, some present strength with more to come. Right handed hitter, open stance with a busy deep hand load and some bat waggle to start his swing, long loose swing with some developing bat speed, tends to stay on his backside and pull around the ball, line drive swing plane and handles the barrel well, had good hitting rhythm and was on time, projects as a hitter. 7.07 runner, showed his athletic actions well in the outfield, works through the ball well with quick feet, accurate on line throws with good arm strength, long stride out front, sound fundamentals. Also pitched, long loose arm action, stays on line well. Consistent upper 70's fastball, mostly straight, showed good spin and depth on his curveball, threw both pitches for strikes and competed well. Good student.
