Zeke Diamond is a 2018 SS with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Sandy Springs, GA who attends Pace Academy. Large frame with a lean, athletic build and wiry strength. Ran a 6.94 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with fundamentally sound footwork while working to and surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball well out front with developing fluidity when working to backhand. Covers ground while ranging to each side with long strides with smooth actions. Gets the ball out with a quick release that created some carry across the infield at 75 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and high back elbow set. Lower half works to contact with rotational actions generating occasional shift. Loose, extended hand path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Flashed good bat speed through the zone when turning barrel to pull side. Ball jumps off the barrel well when working to pull side creating rising line drives to the gap. Outstanding student.
