Trey Jacobson is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Estherville, IA who attends Estherville Lincoln Central. Medium frame with an athletic build and wiry strength. Frame projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.06 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with clean footwork while traveling to and centering the baseball. Funnels the baseball from a slightly deeper position and worked through exchange with developing fluidity. Released from a three-quarters arm slot producing accurate carry across the infield topping at 83 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, slightly open stance and leg lift trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Level, line drive plane through extension. Flashed some hand quickness through the zone while swinging with intent. Ball jumped off the barrel well when squared generating good carry to the gaps. Also pitched utilizing a small rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and lands at a slightly closed position at finish. Hides baseball well with a compact arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed occasional downhill tilt through the zone in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with tight spin and good depth when staying on top of offering. Consistently worked to the bottom quadrants of the zone while effectively staying off barrels. Very good student as well.
