Josh Haney is a 2018 SS/RHP, 3B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Stanley, NC who attends Southlake Christian Academy. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet and shows quick, short steps ranging up the middle, has a bounce to step, longer gather out front at the ball, gets behind backhand well and works through it nicely, throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, strength across and projects for more, accurate throws. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and employs a toe tap trigger for timing. Simple hand load at start of swing and works to a line drive swing plane showing quickness to hands and barrel. Repeats swing mechanics well and generates nice carry off the barrel, open stance at start and does a nice job getting closed at point of contact. Looseness to hands with good bat speed, shows ability to drive the ball to pull side with comfort, contact approach. Excellent student.
