Alex Egan is a 2018 RHP/3B, 2B with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Hammond, LA who attends St Thomas Aquinas HS. Has a large frame with signs of strength throughout build. Posted a 7.28 second sixty yard dash. From the infield, showed athletic actions to the baseball and a very strong arm with velocity as high as 87 mph on throws across. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a a toe tap trigger. Stays short to the baseball with good quickness in his hands, hits the baseball out front with solid extension out front, consistently finds the barrel. On the mound, stays online in delivery and gets downhill plane. Throws from an over the top arm slot with good arm speed. Mixed in a curveball with 12/6 shape with solid depth and good sharpness, changeup has nice sinking action. Good student. Named to 2016 South Underclass Top Prospect List.
