Joe Capretta is a 2018 C/3B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Aurora, OH who attends Aurora HS. Medium, athletic build with quality present build and good projection remaining as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.14 seconds. Hits from open stance with good lift in swing, intent is to hit the ball into the air and shows solid present bat speed. Hands work well into swing, can get mistimed a bit. Shows solid jump off the barrel and shifts well into contact, has good hitting tools with continued development. Showed well behind the plate, sets low and shows game actions throughout, clean footwork out of crouch online to target, shows solid arm strength up to 74 MPH with pop time as low as 2.03 seconds. Good in game throws from behind the plate. Worked in the IF as well, has some foot quickness, showed solid arm strength across the diamond up to 79 MPH. Very good student.
