Sam Cornelius is a 2018 OF/RHP/3B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Palm Beach Gardens, FL who attends The Kings Academy. Extra-large, athletic frame with brad shoulders and long limbs, present strength to body with additional room to fill out. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball with short steps and uses a small crow hop to create momentum to throws, short and compact arm action, occasionally gets under throws, accurate to the bag and projects with additional lower half at release. Also pitched, uses long levers to create plane to fastball, short arm action through the back to an extended three-quarters arm slot. Gets fastball down in zone well, topped out at 84 mph with short running life and sink. Works to arm side well, some effort at release, shows fluidity to arm action. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high back elbow in the box. Shows looseness to hands during load, generates nice bat speed and shows leverage to path. Employs a toe tap trigger for timing, occasionally gets to front side early, creates nice extension when on time and shows nice barreled contact to all fields. Good student.
