Bailey Mantilla is a 2018 LHP with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends American Heritage HS. Big athletic build with broad shoulders and long arms, lots of lower body strength. Full arm action in the back, 3/4's arm slot, tall and fall delivery mechanics, ball comes out of his hand easily. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, short arm side run at times, creates good angle with his fastball and can get get it inside to right handed hitters. Maintains arm speed and release slot well on his change up and turns it over with some fading action. Tends to slow arm on a big breaking 1/7 curveball, curveball acts as a change of pace to get hitters off balance and he has good feel for it. Three pitch southpaw with some feel for mixing and spotting his pitches. Good student, verbal commitment to Miami.
