Alex Bueno is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Coral Springs, FL who attends Coral Springs Charter High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.60 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher, started with a higher leg raise past belt, worked from the first base side of the rubber, landed open, used a short, compact arm action, and threw from a high three quarter arm slot. Arm showed quickness with a fastball that worked 77-81 mph with short arm side life. Fastball did straighten out up in the zone and should finish more through the ball. Curveball showed good depth with 11/5 shape at 73 mph and should incorporate it into mix more. Some effort at release that hampered command, but showed tools. Also worked out from the outfield, used a similarly short arm action and used good momentum through the ball. Similar arm strength up to 82 mph with extension through release. At the plate, started with a wide base, closed stance, high back elbow, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Swing primarily worked through upper half with a middle of the field approach. Line drive plane with natural loft. Has strength in lower half that should be incorporated into swing to aid with consistency at contact.
