Michael Torniero is a 2018 OF/LHP with a 5-7 155 lb. frame from East Haven, CT who attends West Haven Notre Dame. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders, projects with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 4.85 40-yard dash. Primary outfielder, short and quick steps moving towards the ball, nice energy to and through the ball, fields out front, quick arm action and keeps throws low, comes out clean and shows present arm strength and carry, repeats actions well. Also pitched, works exclusively out of the stretch, high leg lift just past belt, stays on line with lower half through release. Similar quick arm action, full in the back getting to a three-quarters arm slot with extension out front, creates nice angle at topped out at 82 mph. Fastball gets on hitters and comes out of hand clean, short running life to arm side, flashed both a curveball and changeup from similar arm slot. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open and spread stance in the box, upper body dominant swing. Generates nice bat speed through the zone and projects with additional incorporation of lower half, can elevate the ball and showed comfort in working all fields, ball jumped off the barrel when squared up.
