Gabriel Subirats is a 2019 RHP/IF/OF with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein High School. Medium build, compact frame, present strength, and room to continue to refine with age. Primary right handed pitcher, started with a higher leg lift, shorter arm action, slow to the plate, worked from the first base side of the rubber, and threw from an extended three quarter arm slot. Showed good extension through the ball and worked around the zone effectively. Fastball showed natural cut at 76-80/81 mph and worked it well inside on left handed hitters. Varied drive to the plate and controlled running game well. Chase swings and miss on fastball away from right handed hitters. Also incorporated a curveball with 11/5 shape at 70 mph with good depth and replicated arm speed. Showed good feel to spin and needs to stay on top of pitch. Also worked out from the outfield and infield. Graded out better from the infield, short footwork to the ball, clean fielding actions to backhand, raw arm strength and transfer skills. At the plate, started with a closed stance and a small stride to the ball. Swing worked primarily through upper half with a linear swing plane and pull oriented approach. Should incorporate lower half more to drive ball more consistently.
