Craig Matta is a 2018 C/3B, 1B with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Tuckerton, NJ who attends St Augustine Preparatory High School. Medium frame with large build and clear present strength throughout. Posted a 5.54 time in the 40 yard dash. A primary catcher, utilized a short arm action and gains ground well with raw receiving and throw skills. Posted a 2.08 pop time. At the plate, started with an open stance and a hand set that was close to the body. Showed impressive ability to turn the barrel and drive the ball in the air with plus bat sped. Worked a gap-to-gap approach with power to drive the ball where pitched.
