Ryan Brown is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Bakersfield, CA who attends Liberty HS. Tall and lanky build, young look, projects well physically. Long and loose arm action, shows the ball in back, high 3/4's to over the top arm slot, arm is loose and easy out front, generates good momentum to the plate. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, lots of reasons to project more velocity in the future, fastball mostly straight and can improve on working down in the zone. Breaking ball varied between 64 and 72 mph, showed some feel for changing shape and speeds on it, will tend to shorten his arm stroke on his breaking ball, gets good curveball depth at times.. Flashed a change up. Has the tools to keep improving with physical maturity. Right handed hitter, big leg raise trigger, open at contact, spray contact to all fields. 7.63 runner, showed a loose arm and good arm strength from the outfield. Good student.
