Ben Baird is a 2016 SS/2B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Agoura Hills, CA who attends Agoura HS. Tall and lean athletic build, very projectable physically. 6.79 runner, very high level defensive player, big arm strength from shortstop, fields the ball out front with soft hands, quick transfer, has very good athleticism and balance at second base and arm becomes a big weapon. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base, short swing and keeps his hands in well, best contact pulling, tends to over-emphasize swinging down to the ball but has bat speed when opening up his swing, projects well as a hitter as he physically matures and makes adjustments. Outstanding student, verbal commitment to Washington. Named to the Perfect Game All-American Classic team.
