Shane Martinez is a 2016 SS/3B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Riverside, CA who attends John W. North HS. Strong and physical build, fairly mature physically. Right handed hitter, high hand/high back elbow load, moves into contact well and build momentum through contact, long and loose swing with good bat speed, ball carries well off the barrel and he shows his strength, gets the ball in the air with good extension out front, pull approach, has power potential. Third base tools and profile on defense, has very good arm strength but will need to work on accuracy, good balanced actions through the ball. Lots of offensive potential. Good student, verbal commitment to Arizona.
