Tyler Kersh is a 2017 C/1B/RHP with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Brandon, MS who attends Northwest Rankin HS. Physical build with broad shoulders, present strength with room to project. Right handed hitter, tall stance, easy shift into contact. Good hands, very good strength for age, ability to repeat simple, efficient swing path. Wears out the middle of the field with solid line drives, also shows ability to extend and get the bat head out. Primary catcher, shows solid arm strength. Accurate throws, could shorten up release. Also pitches, uses strong lower half well, generates downhill plane in delivery, works to high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball up to 82 mph, shows good life down in the strike zone. Also mixes in curveball with 11/5 shape and a rare changeup in low-70s. Still developing feel for secondary offerings and repeatble delivery, but tools to work with on the mound. Excellent student. Named to Top Prospect List.
