Ryan Christie is a 2017 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Matthews, NC who attends Weddington. Large frame with athletic, lean present build and good projection remaining on frame. Primary pitcher, shows longer arm action, hip coil into delivery, good arm speed and overall deception in delivery. Slight crossfire adds deception as well. FB worked 78-81 and touched 82, showed good ability to command FB to both sides of plate. Had CB with solid 1/7 shape and tight spin, good depth. CH showed advanced feel, good arm speed with deception, quality fading action. Hits from slightly hunched over stance, wraps a bit to start, wider base with balance, has good hand speed with simple approach. Generates good bat speed, line drive stroke and uses whole field. Shows solid athleticism at 1B, fielding cleanly to both sides and showing quick release on throws to 2B and 3B. Named to 2015 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List.
