Jensen Lapoint is a 2016 C/1B, RHP with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Kennebunk, ME who attends Cheverus HS. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and long limbs with present strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.39 60-yard dash. Short steps to the ball in the outfield, longer release with a short arm action, shows quickness to arm and comes out of hand clean. Moves well off the first base bag, fields out front, similar short arm action with quickness and plenty of strength, transfers well from glove. Also pitched, shows a short arm action in the back and a three-quarter arm slot. Balanced delivery with a high leg raise level to belt and slight hip turn at top, get on top of fastball and generates downhill plane on fastball that topped 82 mph. Quick arm, has a feel for short 11-5 curveball showing depth, flashed a changeup at 72 mph and mixed well. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a balanced set up with a high hand set. Remains balanced through swing, simple and repeatable swing, easy strength and carry off the barrel. Small toe tap trigger, good bat speed and path to the ball, barrel stays in the zone and uses all fields effectively. Named to Northeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
