Dave Rodriguez is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Lake Worth, FL who attends Trinity Christian Academy. Long and lean athletic build, very projectable physically. Big side step start to delivery gets him off direction and off balance, long and loose arm action from a high 3/4's arm slot, gets nice extension through release, arm is fast and loose. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, plenty more velocity in there with physical maturity, fastball gets good running and sinking life and will also occasionally cut glove side. Nice curveball with occasional 12/6 depth shape and big depth. Also had a nice change up for his age with fading life. Throws three promising pitches with command and has an idea how to pitch. Right handed hitter, back side hitter with a long inside swing path, has the levers to lift the ball with some adjustments. Will be an interesting young right hander to watch develop. Good student.
