Derek Alonzo is a 2013 C/ with a 6-2 158 lb. frame from Edmond, OK who attends Edmond Santa Fe. Long thin frame, projectable with a lot of room to fill. Raw hitting mechanics but good upside, flashed impressive bat speed, drove a ball 90 mph off the bat in game AB. Line drive swing plane, noisy approach, soft front side, all fields approach, aggressive hitter. Loose arm action, online throwing mechanics, can improve pop time with quicker release, arm projects. Good student.
