Dylan Valentyn is a 2013 C/1B/OF with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Faribault, MN who attends Bethlehem Academy. Tall athletic frame, lean muscular build. Moves well behind the plate for his size, tough for 6-foot-2 catcher to get down in time to block balls in dirt but his feet are quick enough to overcome it. Solid receiver, good arm strength, frames well, short arm action, chance to become quality receiver. Hits from slight crouch, hits to all fields, line drive plane, smooth swing. Keeps hands inside the ball well. Lands heavy on front foot, stood out in front toss, overagressive plate approach in showcase setting affected contact rate vs live pitching, has good hitting tools. Excellent student.
