Jack Gerstenmaier is a 2014 SS with a 6-1 201 lb. frame from Richmond, VA who attends Freeman HS. Medium, highly athletic build, and shows good present strength. Ran a 6.64 60 yard dash, moves well on the base paths. Shows sound infield actions and lateral agility, has quick feet and gets good jumps on groundballs. Has the handles to play middle infield, gets rid of the ball quickly and flashes some present arm strength. Hits right-handed, works from a balance setup and has a line drive swing path. Displays above average bat speed and consistently squares the ball up. Had a good idea at the plate in game action and handled off speed, high upside hitter. Very good student. Has a verbal commitment to Virginia.
