2003 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Hurwitz showed very good bat speed and hand strength with wood in Chapel Hill.. At 6'2/195 he has the size and strength to hit with outstanding power at the next level. He has MLB arm strength in the infield with good athletic actions at 3B. Hefielded some balls a little too deep, but showed a quick transfer and release. He ran a 7.25 - 60 with nice smooth running form. We have seen him before and he is really starting to put his whole game together. All tools play in the game. The arm and the bat play big. Scouts and college coaches need to follow him. Richard is an outstanding "Ivy League" type student.
