Jonell Rosa is a 2006 left handed pitcher from Caquillo, Puerto Rico, with a good 6'2", 185 lb. frame. Rosa has a good pitcher's frame that is long and lanky. He has a loose arm from a 3/4 arm slot. Rosa's fastball topped out at 84 mph with some run, and he worked from 78-83 mph. He is very deceptive making his fastball appear to be faster. He throws a big slurve at 69-71 mph, and has a good change up with good movement at 72-74 mph. Rosa needs to finish his pitches better, but he has projectable velocity. Rosa pitched two innings at the event, and did not allow a hit against the six very good hitters he faced, while striking out two. Keep an eye on this junior lefty.
