2003 South Underclass Showcase
Keithley is a slim 5 foot 11 with nice actions at shortstop combined with good reactions to the ball. It was nice to see his versatility and arm strength at both shortstop an 3B positions. He showed 82 mph velocity across the infield and a solid glove. He ran a 7.30 in the 60 and projects very well with his wiry build that appears to be just starting to fill out. He showed a good fluid swing and nice extension utilizing a long lever and sending the ball 350 feet with many of his batting practice hits. He can improve by staying inside those inner half pitches and driving them with a bit more of the barrel and the sky is the limit for him. He can run, throw and swing the wood all with good potential and his baseball actions are all excellent. He is the type of player that has good tools that project well across the board. He will develop more strength and his baseball instincts and actions are advanced. Watch out for him. Needs to be followed close for the 2005 class.
