Chase Austin is a 2027 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Portland, OR who attends Beaverton. Features a lean/athletic build with present projection in the frame. Ran a 6.95 60-yd dash. In the OF, showed athletic actions working low and through the ball quickness and clean exchange. Showed a shorter arm action where he got uphill with his shoulders for some pulldown action. Showed quality arm strength for his level up to 78 mph with accuracy to the bag. At the plate, he sits in a balanced stance with higher set hands and uses a mix of a toe tap and leg lift gather that rocks him into his backside. Hands dominate the swing working the barrel on a more direct/steep path through with avg. bat speed for his level. Best contact he had during his round were a couple of line drives he had to the middle of the field that he stayed through well on. Barreled a hard GB down the RF line during gameplay that resuslted in an inside the park HR. On the mound, he has plenty of upside with an athletic delivery. He side steps into a mid chest knee lift he syncs well with his initial drift down the mound while staying in his backside. Gets uphill with his shoulders. Arm action is shorter out the glove and works to release with some present armspeed up to a H ¾ slot. His delivery works with good direction and he lands in-line. Fastball worked up to 79 garnering some late in-zone whiff. Mixed in a developing mid 60s breaking ball as well. Named to Top Prospects List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
