Patrick McGavin is a 2010 1B/P with a 6'3'', 198 lb. frame from Spanish Fort, AL who attends Spanish Fort HS. Tall athletic build, projectable. Smooth athletic actions at 1B, good agility and fielding actions dispite his size, solid arm strength as well. Hits from a narrow slightly open stance, stays tall, simple rotational swing with lift, generates good bat speed, projects to have plus power in the future, can handle the high pitch very well. Also pitched from a 3/4 arm slot, well paced delivery, FB has good movement, 2 to 8 break on CB, good control on both pitches. The size and bat should create draft interest. Very good student, verbal to Alabama.
