Chandler Smith is a 2023 C/RHP, 2B, 3B, SS with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Miles City, MT who attends Custer Co District. Features a bigger build with strength present. Ran a 7.74 60-yard dash. Primary catcher. Uses a side saddle setup behind the plate. Gains ground well out of crouch. Throws with intent, showing quickness to the transfer. Recorded a 1.88 second pop time. Worked out on the infield. Moves well despite the bigger frame. Has fairly quick feet with good direction into the catchpoint. Range profiles well for third base. Threw 82 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes an even stance with a more narrow base into a high leg kick timing mechanism. Swings on a linear path with some strength to the hands. Shows the ability to get extended well out front. Still developing consistent impact at contact. Right-handed pitcher. Gets down the mound with intent using tall and fall mechanics. Has quality arm speed present within short arm action. Fastball sat 80-82 mph with slight armside run. Command should continue to develop as the mechanics are refined. Flashed a slider at 71-72 mph with short, tilting action. Can land it for strikes. Good student.
