Clay Welter is a 2010 MIF/P with a 5'9'', 165 lb. frame from Gilbertville, IA who attends Don Bosco HS. Lean athletic body, some compact strength. Good balance hitting, short and quick to the ball, open stance with toe tap trigger, aggressive swing, good bat speed, drives ball to the gaps, could get more from lower half. Coming off labrum surgery, did not throw, showed smooth easy actions fielding ball, quick feet, stays balanced. 7.00 runner with game speed. Follow closely when healthy.
