John Adamson is a 2008 C with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from South Pasadena, CA who attends South Pasadena HS. He has a lean, athletic frame with some present strength and the chance to have more. Adamson has plenty of arm strength behind the plate but has a long arm action and a slow release now. He sets up high behind the plate but has good lateral quickness and is a willing blocker of pitches. Better fundamentals will help Adamson; he has the physical tools to be a good defenisve catcher at the next level. Offensively, Adamson hits from a balanced stance with flexed knees. He has some lower half collapse in his swing but has a good line drive pull swing and is looking to pull the ball. He'll have to learn how to handle pitches on the outside half and finish more aggressively through the ball. Adamson is a good student off the field.
